THE CATHY RAIN CAPE

We are partnering with Dallas-based fashion and lifestyle blogger Cathy Williamson to launch a limited-edition Rain Cape to raise awareness for Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). 15% of the proceeds will be donated to the TNBC Foundation on Christmas Eve this year. 

THE STORY BEHIND THIS PROJECT

Cathy Williamson, the creator behind The Middle Page Blog, had previously designed and manufactured a rainwear line under the name of She Reigns but had to stop when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. A very aggressive form of breast cancer known as Triple Negative (TNBC). When Lucia met Cathy, this story left an impression. Soon, talks were initiated on how we could work together to bring her project back to life. Together with Marta, a rain cape was designed and with it, we aim to raise awareness on the cancer Cathy had fought for many years.

WHAT IS TNBC?

Triple Negative Breast Cancer grows and spreads faster than other types of invasive breast cancer and accounts for about 10-15% of all breast cancers. The term “triple-negative” refers to the fact that the cancer cells don’t have estrogen or progesterone receptors, and don’t make any or too many of the protein called HER2. This type of breast cancer has fewer treatment options and tends to have a more challenging prognosis, too. Learn more about the TNBC foundation and what they do.

MARY'S TRIP TO TORINO, ITALY

After numerous calls between Mary and our co-founders Marta and Lucia, Mary will be visiting Torino to finalize the designs for the capsule collection in the Atelier with Marta. Be sure to follow the journey on Instagram @martascarampi.

Various types of fabrics have been seen and sampled, however, the co-design team ultimately decided to go with linen, the most natural, sophisticated, and timeless material. Linen will be the protagonist of this capsule collection - expect to see stripes and pastel colors!
